Find The Right Pet Door
Pet doors are meant for … dogs and cats. Often you'll find small children or unwanted animals also trying to crawl through a pet door (I couldn't resist this photo). If you're using your pet door year round, chances are you have installed the pet door in an exterior wall. Many homeowners only want a pet door during warm weather, so installing one in a screen door makes a lot of sense. However screen doors have problems and frequently need repairs due to holes or tears, and the wrong dog door may make this problem worse. When picking your dog door, remember that one of the most common problems with screen doors is people or pets walking through the screen.

About Our Doggy Door
A pet door or pet flap (also referred to in more specific terms, such as cat flap, cat door, dog door, or doggy door) is a small portal in a wall, window or human door to allow pets to enter and exit a house (or other structure) on their own without needing a person to open the door
Originally simple holes, the modern form is a hinged and often spring-loaded panel or flexible flap, and some are electronically controlled. They offer a degree of protection against wind, rain, and larger-bodied intruders entering the dwelling
A pet door is found to be convenient by many owners of companion animals, especially dogs and cats, because it lets the pets come and go as they please, reducing the need for pet-owners to let or take the pet outside manually, and curtailing unwanted behaviour such as loud vocalisation to be let outside, scratching on doors or walls, and (especially in the case of dogs) in the house. They also help ensure that a pet left outdoors can safely get back in the house in the case of inclement weather.

The cats and dogs can access the porch from inside through a door that they can all pass through, but only the dog can go out to the yard via the smart door. So far our cats haven't "caught on". We do have one very clever cat, but so far she hasn't escaped so I'd say it's a success.
Even checked the manufacturer's website. So, had to go with the large which is really big for my medium size dogs. The door clicks open even when the dogs are no where near it. No matter how sensitive it is set to. Also, they often have to wait a good while when they are right next to it.
The dogs learned to use their "key" in a short period of time without any coaching from me. We have always allowed our dogs to use a dog door but this one is particularly nice as only the animals that wear the key can operate the door. I think only the most determined cat will learn to go out with dogs.
The doggie door they would escape. When we came across this and read all the reviews i was worried we would be wasting our money on a product that people had said was "too loud" or that it just wouldn't work at all. I'm so glad we decided to try it anyways.
